My name is Elizabeth Henderson Elks. I was born and raised in Onslow County and I am excited that my husband and I have the opportunity to raise our children in the place I have always called home. I come from a family of educators, all whom are graduates of ECU! In 2001 I too became an ECU Pirate and in 2005 I graduated from East Carolin
My name is Elizabeth Henderson Elks. I was born and raised in Onslow County and I am excited that my husband and I have the opportunity to raise our children in the place I have always called home. I come from a family of educators, all whom are graduates of ECU! In 2001 I too became an ECU Pirate and in 2005 I graduated from East Carolina with my BS in Elementary Education. I continued my studies at East Carolina and completed my Masters in Education in May of 2006. Shortly after graduation I became the Franchisee of Sylvan Learning Center in Jacksonville. For 10 years I watched Sylvan change the lives of school age children in Onslow County. In 2016 Sylvan’s partnership with Milestones opened a door that I dreamed about for a decade. Providing quality early education to children in Onslow County has been a goal of mine for a long time. Milestones Preschool has exceeded my expectations! Watching our students surpass their academic goals has inspired Jamie and I to expand Milestones to serve students through 5th grade. I am excited to have the opportunity to serve as the Director of Milestones Academy.

My name is Jamie Williams McRacken and I am the Director of Milestones Preschool & Enrichment Center. I grew up in Richlands and currently reside in Jacksonville with my family. While attending college I worked at a child care facility; that is where my passion for educating young children began. In 2008 I graduated from East Carolina Un
My name is Jamie Williams McRacken and I am the Director of Milestones Preschool & Enrichment Center. I grew up in Richlands and currently reside in Jacksonville with my family. While attending college I worked at a child care facility; that is where my passion for educating young children began. In 2008 I graduated from East Carolina University with my BS in Birth through Kindergarten Teacher Education. After graduation I immediately started teaching in Onslow County. While teaching I decided to continue my studies at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and graduated in 2011 with my Masters in Education. Throughout my career I have taught preschool and kindergarten for the Onslow County School System and Camp Lejeune Dependent Schools. I have always been passionate about helping children in Onslow County succeed in Kindergarten. My vision for academic success in Kindergarten was one of the inspirations for Milestones Preschool and Enrichment Center. I am proud to bring a quality preschool to Onslow County and I am committed to ensuring your child receives a quality preschool education.
